Meet Alison
I’m Alison Crabb, and I work with leaders who want to build teams people never want to leave. Because in today’s environment, leadership is about creating an environment where people stay, grow, and perform. It’s hard to hit targets without creating this first.
I’m an author, coach, trainer, and mentor with a human-centred, practical approach to leadership. My work is grounded in one simple belief: when leaders build trust, clarity, and ownership, performance follows.
My Story
I started my career as a Primary School Teacher. After teaching for a few years and a life-altering moment, I found myself on the frontline with Flight Centre Travel Group.
What I thought would be a 12-month ‘Fun job’ where I would have a couple of free holidays turned into an incredible 25-year career.
I quickly moved into leadership roles, from store manager to area leadership, and ultimately global leadership.
For eight years, I led one of the most successful retail divisions in the world, growing profit from $18 million to $49 million, leading over 1,200 people across 200+ stores, and delivering $1.2 billion in annual sales.
For eight consecutive years, that division was the most profitable globally.
But what I’m most proud of isn’t just the numbers, it’s the culture we built to achieve them.
What I Believe
Leadership has never been more demanding.
Leaders are being asked to do more with less, navigate constant change, and still keep their teams engaged and performing.
But pushing harder isn’t the answer.
Leading differently is.
When leaders know how to build trust, give ownership, and connect with their teams’ humanity, everything shifts: engagement, performance, and retention.
This is where real leadership impact happens.
What I Do Now
Today, I partner with Australia’s leading organisations, working with Area Leaders, Operations Leaders, and Executives to elevate leadership capability and performance.
My focus is helping leaders build environments where people want to stay and teams are set up to succeed.
I’m also the author of:
- The Essential Guide for Area Leaders in Retail
- Leading Leaders in Retail
- Leading Leaders – The essential guide for building trust, ownership and performance
